Fayetteville Technical Community College will host Diane Shaw, Special Collections Archivist at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, and curator of their extensive Lafayette Collection of letters and artifacts for 30 years. A recognized authority on Lafayette’s life and times, Ms. Shaw has written many articles about the French hero of the American Revolution and his opposition to slavery and support of equal rights for all. Ms. Shaw will share valuable lessons from 200 years ago from one of the few heroes of history whose actions were guided unfailingly by compassion and respect for the dignity of his fellow human beings.
