Course Rules

Rules & Regulations

The following regulations set forth rules of conduct that prohibit certain types of student behavior. Students are expected to act and dress appropriately for a college environment. Neither actions nor dress should distract others from concentrating on their course of study.

The College has established the following Code of Conduct to ensure that an appropriate college environment is maintained. Violation of one or more of these regulations may result in disciplinary sanctions. Students are not permitted to engage in any of the following activities while participating in any College course while on or off campus, while participating in a College-sponsored event, or while in a College owned vehicle.

  1. Regular class attendance is essential to establish workplace readiness. Students must comply with the 100% HRD class attendance policy.
  2. Breaks are built into the class schedule. Students are expected to adhere to designated times. Refrain from loitering in the hallways and lounge areas so as not to disturb others. Students waiting for a ride home or work have a 10-minute waiting period. Individuals violating this time may be asked to leave campus.
  3. The Continuing Education Center is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is allowed in designated smoking areas only.
  4. Consumption of beverages or food is prohibited in the computer labs and all classrooms.
  5. Students will not be allowed in class without a valid State or Federal issued ID card.
  6. Any student observed defacing or vandalizing property in any way will be subject to expulsion, a fine, and/or restitution.
  7. Be respectful of yourself and others. Refrain from using loud, profane, or insulting language while on campus.
  8. Pagers or cellular phones must be turned off during class times. Radios, headphones, and headsets are not allowed in the building.
  9. Students will only be allowed to use the internet under the direct supervision of the Instructor. Any student observed viewing unauthorized websites will be subject to suspension.
  10. Violating any College rule, regulation, policy and/or procedure.
  11. Violating any local, state or federal law or regulation.

Dress for Success

One of our goals is to help prepare students for the dynamic economy and the workforce environment by requiring them to adhere to the following Dress Code.

– Hats (baseball caps, knit caps, visors, etc.) are to be removed upon entering any HRD Class and not to be put back on until the building is exited.

– Dress appropriately for classroom setting: Sagging pants, pajamas, raised pant legs, bedroom shoes, exposed midriffs, exposed backside, excessively low-cut tops (including tank tops, spaghetti straps, halter tops), leggings of any kind, and skirts/shorts shorter than 2” above the knee are not considered appropriate attire for college.
