Fayetteville Technical Community College has once again been named a Top 10 Military Friendly School.

The designation, for the 2023-24 academic year, was awarded by Viqtory, an independent media organization that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.

“We’re honored to receive the designation as a Top Ten Military Friendly School again,” said FTCC President Dr. Mark Sorrells. “FTCC has consistently performed at this high level over the years and we will continue to provide exceptional service to our military members, veterans and military families going forward.”

FTCC has consistently been awarded Top 10 Military Friendly status in the large community college category by the organization, including earning the No. 1 ranking for 2022-23 and 2019-20.

More than 1,800 institutions participated in this year’s survey to determine the list of 2023-24 Military Friendly Schools. Of the participants, 530 schools earned special awards for going above the standard.

The methodology, criteria, and weightings for the list were determined by Viqtory with input from an advisory council of independent leaders in higher education and the military recruitment community.

Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

FTCC offers a wide range of classes, and programs are available in a variety of settings, including on FTCC’s campuses, at Fort Bragg and online. FTCC awards appropriate credit for prior military learning and follows up with comprehensive services to meet the special educational needs of military personnel and their families.

FTCC’s All American Veterans Center, which is located on its Fayetteville campus, provides educational assistance and support to veterans. The College’s Transition Tech program provides industry-focused training for military members who are preparing for civilian life.

The 2023-24 Military Friendly Schools list will be included in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine, which is published by Viqtory.
