The ACCUPLACER is a computer-adaptive assessment that evaluates your current skill levels in Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra. Work at your own pace because the ACCUPLACER is untimed. It is not a pass or fail but it is important to do your best. You are encouraged to prepare for the ACCUPLACER assessment. The results of the assessment will determine your appropriate level of English and math courses to enroll in at FTCC.
If you live outside of North Carolina and would like to take the ACCUPLACER assessment, it may be possible for you to test at a remote site and have the school mail or fax an official copy of the results to FTCC.
FTCC accepts official ACCUPLACER, ASSET or COMPASS assessment scores completed within 3 years of test date.
Assistance is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Academic Placement and Assessment Office is located in the Tony Rand Student Center, Room 120B. The ACCUPLACER assessment is administered in the General Classroom Building (GCB) Room 113.
