Career Advancement Account Information

Career Advancement Accounts (CAA) will cover the costs of training and education, enabling participants to earn a degree or credential in high-demand, portable fields in almost any community across the country. Career Advancement Account provide $3,000 for the first year and may be renewable for one additional year, for a two-year account total of $6,000. Program funding will end June 30, 2010 so training programs must be completed by this date.

Who is Eligible?

You are eligible for a Career Advancement Account if you:

  1. Have a high school diploma or GED
  2. Are not currently receiving training assistance funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and
  3. Are married to an active-duty servicemember/sponsor who:
  • Is an E-1 through E-9 (Enlisted/NCO), W-1 through W-5 (warrant officer), or O-1 through O-10 (Commissioned Officer)
  • Is assigned to Fort Bragg or Pope Air Force Base or is deployed or on an unaccompanied military tour from the participating installation and
  • Has a minimum of two years remaining at the current installation duty assignment

How do I get started?

Make an appointment with the Army Education Center (432-1404/2826) in building 2-1105 at the corner of Reilly and Macomb Streets on Fort Bragg or the Pope Education Center (394-1141) in building 308 at the corner of Reilly and Academy Streets on Pope AFB. They can assist with career counseling, education and training resources, and starting the application process, including determining whether or not you are eligible for a CAA.

  • Health Care
  • Information Technology
  • Education
  • Trade Occupations
