aid2-gball.gif (257 bytes)  Q.  WHAT IS THE PARENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION CHILD CARE GRANT PROGRAM?

     AThe Parents for Higher Education Child Care Grant Program is a State and Smart Start funded program which assists single parents and/ or displaced homemakers with child care expenses.

     A.  You must be approved for or enrolled in a curriculum program.   You must apply for the PELL grant through the Financial Aid Office.  Students who are enrolled or who have been approved to enroll in Developmental Studies courses may be assisted on a limited basis.

     A.  The period that applications will be available for the Parents for Higher Education Child Care Grant Program is once a year.  The applications are available during the month of June for the ensuing year.  However, if funds are available, an announcement will be made concerning acceptance of additional applications.  For additional information, please call (910) 678-8387 or 678-8486.
