ELIGIBILITY

Advantages for Co-op Students:

  • Gain a working knowledge of your field of study

  • Usually earn money for meaningful work

  • Gain experience in your field

  • Test or explore jobs in your field to clarify or confirm career goals

  • Network with professionals in your field and make contacts for the future

  • Earn course credit while learning in a realistic situation

  • Improve your GPA

  • Secure full-time employment, often, upon graduation

  • Establish solid references for the job search

  • Develop job search skills such as a résumé

Eligibility Checklist:

Must be officially enrolled in a program that offers the Co-op Option

  • Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in major curriculum courses

  • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA

  • Must need the course(s) listed for substitution under the Co-op Option

Credit:

Course credit is earned based upon the number of hours worked per week each semester.

  • 10-19 hours per week = 1 credit

  • 20+ hours per week = 2 credits
