A.   The Career Center staff follows these steps to help you make "YOUR" plan:
            1. 
Self-assessments are helpful in order to get to
 know yourself.
            2. You will explore occupations, schools, and programs.
            3.  Finally, you set up your plan with the help of a counselor.

A.  Our DISCOVER software as well as our Career Explorer Internet subscription enable us to find occupations related to your curriculum.  We also have books, handouts, and videos for your exploration.

      A.  Our DISCOVER software has a listing of schools and majors in all fifty states.  We also have an Internet subscription to COLLEGE SOURCE (National College Catalog Collection) where you can download catalogs from many colleges throughout the U.S.

      A.  Local, state, and national demand and salaries are available for many occupations through our computer software, Internet access, and printed material.

      A.  Our computer software outlines the physical requirements of many occupations.

 

Q.  I need a job.  Does the Career Center staff help people find jobs?

    A.   The Career Center focuses on Career Planning which entails career assessment (defining your interests, values, and your assessment of your abilities) and career information (local, state, and national demand, salaries, work settings and tasks, physical characteristics, what training is needed and where to obtain that training, etc.).
