Requirements for Graduation
To be eligible, the student must:

Successfully complete the curricular requirements in effect at the time the student entered the curriculum

Have sufficient quality points to average 2.0 (cumulative and major GPA)

Have passing grades in all required hours

Fill out a graduation application by the deadline

Complete a minimum 25% of resident credit at FTCC
(This application must be completed by ALL graduates, whether or not they are walking in the commencement.)

Diplomas |
ALL DIPLOMAS WILL BE MAILED.
Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 diplomas will be mailed after July 1.
Summer 2013 diplomas will be mailed once the semester has ended and grades have been finalized.
All graduates will receive one complimentary official transcript according to the graduating semester.

Associated Fees and Payment Information |
- The graduation application fee is $25. For details, please view "Graduation Fees" on the the Graduation Information page.
- Forms of payment include Mastercard or Visa bank/ credit card.

Graduation Refund Policy |
- Students who do not qualify for graduation by the end of the Summer 2013 term will need to submit the Request for Graduation Fee Refund form to Mary Carter before August 1, 2013. Requests for refund WILL NOT be granted after this date.
- If you have picked up your cap and gown, you are NOT entitled to a refund.

Course Substitutions
- All course substitutions will be made upon the recommendation of the advisor, with endorsement by the department chairperson, division chair, and curriculum program dean. Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Vice President for Academic and Student Services.
- Students receiving assistance from the Veterans Administration must have prior approval to make course substitutions from the VA Office. Electives taken by students under VA educational benefits may exceed the total required hours of a curriculum only by the hours of the last elective taken to fulfill those requirements.
Graduating With Honors
Any student who has earned a quality point average of 4.0 in his or her program at Fayetteville Technical Community College will be granted a diploma or degree with highest honors. (Gold chords and gold tassels for highest honors were given out on commencement day.) Any student who has a quality point average of 3.50 - 3.99 in his or her program of study will be granted a diploma or degree with honors. (Gold tassels for honors were given out on commencement day.) The student’s transcript will be noted to reflect this achievement.
The President’s Award
The President’s Award is presented to a deserving student selected by a faculty-staff committee. To be eligible for this award, a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must have been enrolled on a full-time basis during the year of nomination. The student must exhibit and promote good student morale and demonstrate a genuine concern for FTCC and its role in the community. |
