FAYETTEVILLE, NC – June 12, 2014 – Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) and the Fayetteville Division of Workforce Solutions Office – Cumberland County Career Center announced today that the Fayetteville Workforce Solutions Office received the AMVETS (American Veterans) National Employer of the Year Award for 2012. Prior to receiving the national award, the Workforce Solutions Office was presented the prestigious North Carolina AMVETS Employer of the Year Award.
“The award was presented for maximizing employment opportunities, protecting veterans’ rights and meeting labor market demands with qualified veterans,” said National AMVETS Commander, Cleve Geer. The AMVETS mission statement proclaims that its goal is to enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and the communities where they live through leadership, advocacy and services.
