ON THE JOB TRAINING

On-the-Job Training is a program in which WIA funds are used to reimburse participating employers for providing work-related training for WIA participants. Employers are eligible for reimbursement of up to 90% for up to 26 weeks. The goal of the program is for the employers to hire the participants as full time employees after the training period.

Workforce Development staff help streamline the process by identifying and referring participants that are the best match for the employer’s needs. If the employer does hire the participant, Workforce Development staff continues to provide on-going support to both employee and employer to encourage joint success.
