POSITION VACANCY:  Criminal Justice Curriculum Consultant (DOD Funded Grant)

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified consultants for a pending training and development project. The primary purpose of this position is to analyze, assess, and develop exportable training packages to be used worldwide by deployed or deploying training teams in the instruction of Criminal Justice training in foreign countries.  Plan and develop innovative educational curriculum using a variety of instructional media and distance learning applications to increase operational learning and to conduct problem-solving and scenario based academic exercises that reinforce stated learning objectives for a wide range of criminal justice related activities.

The Curriculum Consultant is primarily responsible for course revision and modification which includes organizing and drafting a curriculum that breaks complex subjects into blocks or units of instruction and integrates them into an exportable lesson plan.  Courses may be instructor based, computer-based, interactive, or non-interactive. Duties may also include incorporation of new curriculum in the teaching process (e.g., develops clarification or examples of application related to the subject matter), and development of alternative teaching techniques and scenarios to maintain high motivation and interest in the subject area.

Perform extensive critical analysis and tailored research, as a team leader, team member, or independently, that supports the learning outcomes of the requirements provided by deployed/deploying training teams. May organize, participate in and lead working groups, special study task forces, and research teams to prepare exportable training packages as directed. 

Maintain currency in criminal justice organization, policy, operational concepts, and current operations.  Review current developments concerning designated area(s) of responsibility on a frequent basis.  Stay abreast of current events, best practices and procedures pertaining to criminal justice operations, exercises, mobilizations, and technology applications to enhance the overall mission.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1.  Knowledge of a wide range of special operations or interagency subject matter areas and issues that directly impact current or future Joint Operations doctrine, strategy, concepts of operations, operational procedures, policy, or systems and other functional issues.

2. Knowledge of US defense policy, national military/security strategy, history of Special Operations Forces, illustrative military operations, organizational structures, management, strategic planning, command and control mechanisms, Multi-National Special Operations Forces and the capabilities/application of Special Operations Forces across the spectrum of conflict.  It is required to possess an advanced degree.

3.  Knowledge at the expert level in one or more of the following subject matter areas:  1) Joint SOF Doctrine/SOF C2 structure, 2) SOF Air Operations, 3) SOF Maritime Operations, 4) Unconventional Warfare, 5) Counterterrorism, 6) Psychological Operations (PSYOP), 7) Civil Affairs Operations, 8) Foreign Internal Defense, 9) Counterinsurgency, 10) Multi-National Special Operations, 11) Irregular Warfare and 12) Interagency Activities and Interoperability.

4. Skilled in the development and delivery of academic instructions using a variety of education techniques and methods to a geographically dispensed audience with varying educational backgrounds in an effective and efficient manner.

5.  Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in order to present innovative and complex ideas to a divergent US military, interagency and international partner audience and negotiate within the SOF community. 

QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Curriculum Specialist or a related field with at least three years of work experience. Previous experience with online instruction and curriculum development, background in military training, military police, or other related police/criminal justice operations is preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with supervisors and subordinates and a ability to work independently is a must.

SALARY: Negotiable.

POSITION VACANCY:  Systems Administrator Technician/MIS Dept, Job #10-07 (Re-opened)

DUTIES:  To assist with the daily System Administration, monitoring, and maintenance of the College’s administrative servers and business software applications.  Assist with monitoring and diagnostics activities, maintaining a variety of operating systems and application software release levels, and maintenance of the backup environment.  Physical activity required in the performance of the job includes occasionally lifting and moving up to 70 pounds, hear audible equipment indicators and verbal communications in the environment must see with sufficient close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception; and focus adjustment to differentiate light/color intensity and evaluate perceivable changes in the environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirement:  An Associate degree in Networking, System Administration or Programming and one year of experience in Windows server, Sun systems, and UNIX (Solaris).  Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of information technology.  Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.  Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Requirements: An associate degree from an accredited college with major course work in horticulture, landscape design or the equivalent, and three years or increasingly responsible experience related to assigned area of responsibility.  Applicants should have knowledge of subject matter related to the assigned laboratory, principles of supervision including employee training, operational characteristics of equipment related to assigned laboratory, and proper and safe use of equipment, materials and supplies applicable to assigned laboratory. POSITION VACANCY:  Part-time Practical Nursing Instructor

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position. Instructor will be responsible for organization, planning, development, and general effectiveness of clinical experiences for students enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program.  The ability to effectively manage a clinical group of up to ten (10) nursing students in a variety of clinical settings. Qualified candidates will possess excellent nursing skills, computer skills, demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; ability to integrate technology, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

DUTIES:  The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for laboratory instruction in addition to clinical instruction.
  • Be organized, able to meet deadlines, and be able to turn in reports in a timely manner.
  • Assess, expand, and develop teaching techniques, communication skills and subject knowledge to enhance student learning and to bring about success in academic achievement.

Preferred:  Two years of teaching experience in Nursing with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
