HIGH SCHOOL CONNECTIONS

FAYETTEVILLE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE

1.  Complete FTCC Online Admissions Application

• New students must apply for admissions as a Special Credit student.  For an FTCC online application click here.  A sample application can be viewed for your convenience.
• Students must print the confirmation page when they complete the admission’s application and take to their high school counselor.

2.  Check Eligibility for Enrollment

• College Transfer Pathways
1. Be a high school junior or senior, no exceptions;
2. Have weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school courses; and
3. Demonstrate college readiness in English, reading, and mathematics on a single assessment for placement test.  Click here for minimum test score requirements.

• Career and Technical Education Pathways
1. Be a high school junior or senior, no exceptions;
2. Have weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school courses or have the recommendation of the high school principal or his/her designee; and
3. Meet any prerequisites or testing requirements for career pathway.

3.  Select a Pathway/Courses

• There are two pathways: College Transfer Pathways and Career and Technical Education Pathways. Please review the listing of pathway programs.
• Students must select one pathway to follow and cannot mix and match courses from different pathway options.

4.  Complete High School Connections Enrollment Form

• Cumberland County public and private school students should see their high school counselor to get the enrollment form in carbon-copy format. Home school and out-of-county students may print a copy of the form here: 2013-2014 HSC Enrollment Form
• This form must be signed by high school counselor or principal, parent, and student.
• Please attach a copy of the student’s transcript and relevant test scores. New students should also submit a copy of the online application confirmation page; returning students will not have to re-apply.

5.  Registrar for Pathway/Courses

High School Connections staff will register student based on enrollment form and transcript received from high schools or students can register in-person with a High School Connections staff member on open registration days a week prior to the start of the term and bring the following documents:

• Enrollment form with approval signatures,
• High school transcript and necessary test scores; and,
• Admissions confirmation page (new students only).
