Continuing Education is divided into the following areas:: Basic Skills Education; Industry Services; Occupational Extension Education; Fire/Rescue Training; Law Enforcement Training; Community Services and Extension Education; Business Services; Small Business Center

PURPOSES
The purposes of Continuing Education are:

to provide educational opportunities for interested adults.
to provide an innovative Basic Skills Education Program (ABE, GED, HRD, ESL, AHS, and CED) in locations easily accessible to interested adults throughout Cumberland County.
to provide a community-wide program of adult education which includes instruction to prepare adults for better job opportunities, promotion in present employment, civic and community leadership, and family living.
to provide a centralized assessment and retention program for Basic Skills Education.
to offer special training programs for new and expanding industry in the county which provide a labor force possessing necessary skills to make the industry immediately productive.
to provide for the educational needs of the military and family members at Ft. Bragg and Pope Air Force Base and to expand in-service staff development programs for civil service employees.
to provide training for local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, rescue services, and to offer lifesaving programs such as CPR and first aid to all citizens in Cumberland County.
to provide educational services to special populations in the Cumberland County area where opportunities beyond the traditional school setting are required (e.g., ABE and GED Correspondence).
to conduct instructor training programs for instructors of Continuing Education.
to continue to be the educational organization recognized by the community as receptive to special interest programs.
