This course provides an opportunity to refine and expand skills in Latin with emphasis on original authors and texts as well as the history of the late Roman Republic. Topics include original works of selected poems from Catullus and selected Odes from Horace. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an increased proficiency in reading and writing Latin and demonstrate an understanding of Roman social structures and thoughts.
This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in humanities/fine arts.
