This course provides continuation of communicative competence in speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing at an intermediate level with attention to cultural awareness. Emphasis is placed on intermediate skills in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension of spoken language. Upon completion, students should be able to carry on simple daily conversations, read and write ‘Katakana’ and ‘Hiragana’, and to comprehend simple written sentences with some ‘Kanji’ (Chinese characters) included.
This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in humanities/fine arts.
