This course introduces the fundamentals of standard written English. Emphasis is placed on effective word choice,recognition of sentences and sentence parts, and basic usage. Upon completion, students should be able togenerate a variety of sentence types that clearly express ideas. This course does not satisfy the developmentalreading and writing prerequisite for ENG 111 or ENG 111A.
