Learn the job by doing the job.

Fire service today is a demanding field, with its high expectations of professional standards, leadership qualifications, and training obligations. Now more than ever, it is vital for fire service professionals to have a foundation of skills to think critically and act decisively to meet the challenges of their chosen field.

The Fire and Rescue Training program through FTCC Continuing Education prepares firefighters and potential firefighters with both entry-level skills and specific area skills in fire related subjects. Courses are offered on campus, at local fire departments, rescue facilities, the Airport Training Facility, and other locations where there is community interest.

Our state-of-the-art Fayetteville Regional Airport Firefighters’ Training Facility contains the most modern fire service training mockups in the country to date. All of the live-fire simulators utilize propane fuel, making this facility environmentally safe. To better serve our students, FTCC also has the Flashover System-Live Fire Training simulator!
