3. What age children do you accept?

For full-time child care enrollment, we can accommodate children from 6 weeks through 5 years old.

4. Will you provide lunch for my child?

Yes, we provide a nutritious lunch in addition to a morning and afternoon snack that complies with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) nutrition criteria.

5. Can I visit my child at the center?

Absolutely. We have an open door policy for parents and we encourage you to visit your child.

6. Are all staff trained in CPR and First Aid?

Yes, all staff members at FTCC Children’s Center receive regular training in CPR and First Aid. Infant and toddler teachers also receive training in ITS-SIDS.

7. What is NAEYC accreditation?

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has developed standards to define and recognize quality child care programs. In order to be accredited, a child care program must meet a variety of strict criteria, including having a well-trained staff, low staff-child ratios, and a comprehensive curriculum, as well as meet stringent health and safety standards.

8. How is the center’s security?

Security is our top priority. The children’s classrooms are located away from the general public and may only
be accessed by a magnetic key card provided to parents and staff. The playground is surrounded by 4 foot
fencing and privacy landscaping. Monthly fire drills, and lockdown procedures are also implemented.

9. What are your teacher to child ratios?

The infants are 2:5, toddlers are 2:6, twos are 2:8, threes are 2:16, fours are 2:18 and school age are 2:20.

10. Can a child be enrolled who is not affiliated with FTCC?

Yes. Waiting list prioritizes the enrollment as follows: Children of FTCC staff, Children of FTCC students and then the community.

11. How do I tour the facility?

If you drop by we may be able to give you a tour, but an appointment is preferred. The best time for a tour is 10:00 a.m.

12. How do I enroll my child?

The best way to enroll is to call the center at 910-678-8560 and inquire if there is availability. If you are interested in availability for future care, you may put your information on our waiting list. We cannot hold spaces for an extended period of time.
