Returning Students

Steps to Apply to Fayetteville Technical Community College

A returning student is a former FTCC student returning to school after an absence of two consecutive semesters or more and plans to complete a degree, diploma, or certificate, or plans to take 12 or more credits to transfer to another school.

1. Getting Started

2. Complete the Residency Determination System (RDS)

Make sure to copy or print your RDS number for future reference.

Note: You will need this number to complete your CFNC FTCC application.

3. Update Your Admissions Application

Make sure all areas are complete for “Residency Information” because this will determine whether you are an in-state or out-of-state student.

4. Apply for Financial Aid

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to find out if you are eligible for financial aid.

If you have attended another college since FTCC, you will need to submit an official transcript from each school attended in order to have your credits evaluated for potential transfer credit.

– Grades at other institutions will not be calculated in your FTCC GPA.
– Certain Health programs will use outside credit to calculate competitive points

All transcripts must be official, sealed documents submitted by your school to:
