Health Programs

Health Programs

Gain the skills and qualifications needed to embark upon a rewarding career as a health care professional. Choose from a variety of programs that prepare students for careers in nursing, dentistry, pharmacology, physical therapy, radiography, speech language pathology, and more.

Criminal Background Checks

Criminal background checks are required for several health programs. Students may be prohibited from clinical education at specific clinical affiliates based on background check results which could prevent students from progressing in their respective health programs.

Health Field Responsibilities

Students may be required to care for clients in clinical settings (i.e. lifting and positioning patients, using both hands to perform tasks, reacting to emergencies, walking fast, etc.). Reasonable accommodations will be made to assist students with special needs, but accommodations which are deemed to threaten client safety are not considered reasonable and will not be granted. If you have questions, please contact Disability Support Services or the Dean of Health Programs.

Competitive Admissions Process

With the exception of the Mammography and Nurse Aide programs, all health programs require a competitive admissions process. A student must complete all pre-requisites and gain competitive points in order to apply for program approval. You may take courses at FTCC before you apply to a health program by enrolling in the Associate in General Education-Health program. Courses will be applied to your competitive application as long they are required on your intended health program Student Education Plan.
