TEST OF ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC SKILLS V (TEAS Version 5)
GENERAL INFORMATION
- All prospective Associate Degree Nursing and Respiratory Therapy students competing for the Health Admissions Competitive process are required to take the TEAS V Exam.
- Associate Degree Nursing: it is highly recommended that you take the TEAS V after you have completed all developmental and prerequisite courses. Further, it is recommended that you take the TEAS after completion of college-level English and BIO-168.
- Respiratory Therapy: it is highly recommended that you take the TEAS V after you have completed all developmental and prerequisite courses.
- Prior to taking the TEAS V, applicants must have completed the FTCC admissions application and have an FTCC student ID number.
- Create an “ATI account” at http://www.atitesting.com using your “FTCC user name.” (If you have an existing ATI account with a different user name, you must edit your profile and make the necessary changes). Locate your “FTCC username” at http://www.faytechcc.edu/mis/student_email.asp
- Visit the online store at http://www.atitesting.com to register for the TEAS V
- Each applicant must purchase his or her own testing reservation. Cost: $40.00.
- TEAS testing is available September –January by appointment only.
- Applicants may take the TEAS V once per calendar year. Deadline to take TEAS: January 30, 2013. TEAS V testing will increase as the deadline approaches. Plan accordingly and test early to avoid testing delays.
TESTING DAY
- Arrive 30 minutes early to the testing site, Paul H. Thompson Library, Room 117. Use parking lot #1. Late arrivals will NOT be allowed to test. http://www.faytechcc.edu/pages/maps.asp
- Allow 3.5 hours to take the test.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID and ATI email confirmation as proof of payment.
- Calculators, cell phones and other electronic devices are NOT allowed.
- Food and drink are NOT allowed. Scratch paper and pencil will be provided.

What is the TEAS V?
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) was developed to measure basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of reading, mathematics, science and English and language usage. These entry level skills were deemed important for health science program applicants by a panel of program curriculum experts. The TEAS is a 170-item multiple choice assessment. FTCC gives the TEAS Version 5.0.
What is on the TEAS V?
The TEAS V is a timed computerized exam made up of 170-item multiple choice questions. The TEAS V is composed of four sections: Reading, Math, Science and English and Language Usage.
