- Do I need to make an appointment for testing?
The Testing Office prefers that you make an appointment but walk-ins are welcome at scheduled times only if seats are available.
An official picture identification is required (i.e. driver’s license, school, military, work or passport). You will not be allowed to test without some form of Id.
- How should I prepare for the test?
It is highly recommended that when you test you are well rested and prepared by completing a through review of the Accuplacer study guide.
It takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The test is not timed; so work at your own pace and answer questions carefully.
- When do I get my test results?
You get a printed copy of results upon completion of the test.
You will be directed to speak with a counselor.
Yes. Students may only take the Accuplacer twice within a three-year period.
- Can I only take one section of the test?
Yes. You can request to test in each section separately.
- How long are the test scores good for?
Test scores remain current for a period not to exceed three years.
- Why do I need to take the test?
Each student is required to test if you are planning to enroll in English and/or Math classes unless you qualify for an exception.
- What material is on the test?
The Accuplacer assessment consists of Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra.
