OUTLINE FOR SCHOOL ENTRY FOR
STUDENTS USING
VA EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS

  1. Required FTCC admissions procedures.

    1. Submit FTCC Application for Admissions   FTCC Student Application.

    2. Send for high school and all college transcripts using the request forms provided in the Application Packet. Those with GED or equivalency diplomas must submit an official copy.  A copy of your DD Form 214 will be required for MOS evaluation.

    3. Unless exempted, you must schedule and take the Accuplacer.  The test is scheduled through the FTCC Admissions Office after submitting the FTCC Application for Admission.

    4. After completing steps A, B and C, you will receive program counseling and approval through a Counselor.  Please inform the Counselor that you are using VA benefits for school. You will receive a Student Educational Plan showing your program, transfer credits granted, and signature for approval of VA certification.

  2. PLEASE RETURN TO THE VETERAN SERVICES OFFICE AFTER YOU RECEIVE A SIGNED COPY OF YOUR STUDENT EDUCATIONAL PLAN TO COMPLETE THE PROCESSING OF YOUR REQUEST FOR VA EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS. YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS WITH YOU:

    1. Signed copy of your Student Educational Plan.

    2. Completed VA forms which were supplied by the FTCC Veterans Services Office.

    3. The member 4 copy DD 214 (Separation papers) for each period of service.  Those who entered service under Delayed Entry in 1976 will need DD Form 4c, Delayed Entry Contract.  National Guard or Reservist will need  DD Form 2384, Notice Of Basic Eligibility (NOBE).  Those students using dependent's benefits must bring a copy of their birth certificate.

    4. VA File Number if benefits were previously used or using VA dependent's benefits.

SPECIAL NOTES

UNLESS ADVANCE PAYMENT IS REQUESTED AND RECEIVED, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY ALL REGISTRATION TUITION, FEES AND BOOKS OUT OF YOUR POCKET.  

DUE TO THE HIGHER COST OF TUITION FOR STUDENTS DESIGNATED OUT-OF-STATE, PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR RESIDENCY STATUS DURING YOUR ADMISSIONS PROCESS AND BE PREPARED TO PAY ACCORDING TO RATES STATED ON REGISTRATION DATA.
