Scholarships: Money that you do not have to repay, however, there may be certain stipulations attached to the award.

Scholarships are available for all courses of study.  Apply at the Financial Aid Office.  Office hours are Monday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday - Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and on Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Loans: Funds provided by a lender which must be repaid. 

Program: William D. Ford Federal Direct (Subsidized) Willam D. Ford Federal Direct (Unsubsidized)
Eligibility: Need Not awarded on need

Annual Amount: Maximum of $3,500 Freshman year, $4,500 for the second year Maximum of $7,500 in 1st year (only $3,500 may be subsidized). $8,500 in the 2nd year, (only $4,500 may be subsidized)

Repayment: Yes. It begins 6 months after last enrollment. Yes.  It begins 6 months after last enrollment.
Comments: Variable interest adjusted July 1st annually. No interest prior to repayment. This is for the independent student, or the student whose parent is unable to get the PLUS loan. Interest begins when loan disbursements are made.

Program: PLUS Loan Nursing Education Scholarship loans
Eligibility: Need Need and academic performance.
Source: Federal Government State Government
Annual Amount:   $400 to $5,000 but a Maximum of $3,00 for AND and LPN programs.

Comments: Dependent Students parent may borrow additional funds up to students COA (Cost of Attendance). Promissory note must be signed. State employment may cancel loan.

Short Term Loans: Funds provided by FTCC that must be repaid within the specified time frames.

Program: Short Term (Tuition OR Books)
Eligibility: Need. Half time status
Source: FTCC funds
Annual Amount:

 

Maximum $702 per semester for

(1) Tuition - up to a maximum of 16 credit hours (In-state)

 

OR

 

(2) Books- up to $600, student must purchase books from FTCC bookstore.
