Library Resources for Distance Education

The Paul H. Thompson Library is committed to serving distance education students. For more information on distance education at FTCC, visit  Distance Learning at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

The library also provides the following remote services:

Automated Catalog  for our book and serial holdings.
The Automated Catalog includes information about the books, audiovisual materials, and periodicals that the Paul H. Thompson Library owns, as well as the holdings of 57 other community college libraries in North Carolina. The catalog shows the status of each item and whether it is checked out or on the shelf.

If you have a Paul H. Thompson library barcode on your student id, you may place a hold on an item if it is owned by another NC community college library.  Held material(s) should arrive within one week.  For more information, call the library at (910) 678-8247, or email Ask-A-Librarian.

Electronic Databases offer full-text articles from journal, magazine, newspaper, e books and reference texts. Databases include NC LIVE, Literature Online Reference Edition, Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, SIRS Researcher, and Science Resource Center. Passwords are required for remote use. Visit  Electronic Databases for a full list and information about passwords.  For more information, call the library at (910) 678-8247, or email Ask-A-Librarian.
