HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT
The HRD program provides skill assessment services, career exploration,
professional interviewing, job application training, and resume writing for
the job seeker and career changer to prepare them for the changing workforce.
After completion of HRD classes, students receive an education voucher which
entitles them to take a career/job training course at no cost. Education
vouchers are valid up to one year but do not cover additional class costs.
All classes are free to qualified adults. Qualified adults are those individuals
who are unemployed, underemployed, or working part-time. For additional

CAREER
MANAGEMENT Fee:

This four-day course is designed to teach individuals effective "job-keeping"
skills through identifying steps to job success, why people get fired, and
effective problem-solving strategies to deal with work related issues. This
course also includes developing a step-by-step career plan. *This course
is free to qualified adults. A new class starts every Monday.

CAREER PLANNING AND EMPLOYMENT SEMINAR
(C.A.P.E.S.) Fee: FREE
This course is an introduction to the process of personal goal and career
decision-making, educational planning, and job searching techniques. Topics
include: analyzing personal career interests, values and aptitudes, surveying
and researching career fields with related educational and training requirements,
practicing the decision-making process, and basic job search skills such
as completing applications, writing letters of application, developing and
using resumes effectively, organizing a professional portfolio, and improving
interviewing expertise. *This course is free to qualified adults.
