COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING

CERT 317-DISASTER PREPAREDNESS FOR CITIZENS        Fee: $25
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and provides the basic training to help our citizens take care of themselves and then help others in their communities for the first three days following a disaster. This course consists of 22 hours of training in such areas as disaster preparedness, fire suppression, medical operations, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and terrorism. The course is designed to be of value to private citizens, businesses, churches, and schools that want the skills and knowledge required to prepare and respond to a disaster. After receiving this training, you will have a greater understanding of what you need to do to prepare yourself and your family for situations such as Hurricane Katrina or 9/11. For additional information, please contact the CERT Public Information Officer by e-mail at: nccert@yahoo.com or visit: http://www.CERTnc.com. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Your instructor has extensive on-the-job experience in the military, hospitals, and fire services. He will be sharing his knowledge with us on how to take appropriate action in the event that the unthinkable occurs. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR TO CLASS DATE.
