Voluntary Shared Leave

Technical Community College The
Voluntary Shared Leave Program at FTCC allows employees to donate a
portion of their accrued leave to another employee, in cases where the
receiving employee (or an employee’s family member) has a prolonged
medical condition (generally considered 20 consecutive days or more) and
has used up all of his/her available leave.
An employee wishing to participate in this program must contact
the Human Resources Office and complete an application form with medical
documentation attached. If the Shared Leave request is approved, an announcement will be made inviting all employees to donate leave to this individual. Non-family employees may donate any accrued vacation or bonus leave hours. Family members at FTCC may donate vacation, bonus, and/or sick leave. Family members working at certain other State agencies may also be able to donate leave to relatives working at FTCC. All Shared Leave donations made to a fellow FTCC employee are confidential. Please refer to the FTCC Administrative Procedures Manual, Section I-10.8 for more information and specific guidelines surrounding the Voluntary Shared Leave Program.
