Life Insurance - The College provides each employee with $10,000.00 in Group Term Life Insurance through Fort Dearborn Life. Optional insurance is available through Fort Dearborn Life in $10,000.00 increments with a maximum of $300,000.00, not to exceed 5 times your current salary, at a rate of $2.00 per $10,000. Coverage is also available for Spouse with maximum coverage of up to half of the amount you purchase for yourself, at a rate of $1.80 per $10,000.00 and Children ($10,000.00 each) at a rate of $3.16. The rates quoted are on a monthly basis. Other optional Voluntary Term Life Insurance is also available through Jefferson Pilot Insurance Co. Sick Leave - Non-temporary employees of FTCC accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave per month. There is no limit to the amount of sick leave hours which may be accrued. This time may be used for doctor's visits, illnesses or death of an immediate family member. At retirement, unused sick leave may be used to increase an employee's credible service for retirement benefits Annual Leave - Non-Temporary, non-faculty of FTCC accrue annual leave based on aggregate state service. The amount of leave earned varies according to the length of service. On June 30, any employee with more than 240 hours of accumulated leave shall have the excess accumulation transferred to their sick leave account. Faculty receives Administrative Leave based on the type of contract they sign. Vacation leave for full-time, non-temporary employees shall be computed at the following rates:
Longevity - Full-time, non-temporary employees of Fayetteville Technical Community College shall receive longevity pay upon completion of the following requirements of aggregate qualifying state service:
Direct Deposit - Direct deposit of payroll checks is available for all full-time, non-temporary employees at any financial institution. Any temporary employee, who has been employed with the College continuously for 9 months or longer, verified in writing to the Payroll Supervisor by their immediate supervisor, is also eligible for direct deposit. Additional information and enrollment forms may be obtained from the Supervisor of Payroll in Room 101B of the Thomas McLean Administration Building. Employee Assistance Program - FTCC has implemented the Student, Faculty and Staff Assistance Program as a service to students, employees, and their family members. This program can help you detect and find help for problems such as: mental or emotional distress, alcohol abuse or alcoholism, drug use or addiction, work-related stress, family stress, financial or legal problems, grief and mourning. This program is strictly confidential and may be accessed by calling Darlene Weaver, Carolina Employee Assistance Service at 910-222-6157 direct or additional information may be obtained from the FTCC Health Services Office. Cancer/Intensive Care Insurance - several levels of coverage for optional cancer and/or intensive care coverage are available through American Family Life Assurance Company (AFLAC). Our representative is available to assist any covered employees in processing their claims. These plans are available on a pre-tax basis. Personal Accident Expense Plan - Provided through American Family Life Assurance Company (AFLAC) and designed to help cover the expenses associated with accidental injury. It pays you directly, unless you assign the benefits, regardless of any other insurance you may have. Plan Benefits include: emergency treatment, initial hospitalization, hospital confinement, specific-sum injuries, accidental death, wellness and more. This plan is available on a pre-tax basis. Flexible Spending for Unreimbursed Medical Expenses & Dependent Child Care - Flexible spending accounts for medical, dental and other health care expenses (not otherwise covered under a medical plan) as well as dependent care spending accounts. Employee estimates his/her expenses for the plan year and authorizes a payroll deduction. These expenses are then deducted on a pre-tax basis and deposited into the employee's flexible spending account(s). Claim forms for downloading are available at their website. Workers' Compensation - All employees are covered by Workers' Compensation. In the event of an accident it should be immediately reported to one's Supervisor, or Security at 88433. Occupational Health Services located at 3314 Melrose Rd is the approved provider for medical services. Any prescriptions should be filled at any local CVS pharmacy. ***Medical care obtained without permission will be at your own expense*** Auto/Home Insurance - MetLife Home and Auto insures all employees at group rates. Full time employees also have the option of payroll deduction for monthly premiums.
